Festival of Running: CT Marathon 5km Relay
As before, the route will be fast and flat, catering for elite athletes chasing fast times and beginners looking to finish their first marathon. The route showcases the mountain, the sea, and all the major attractions of Cape Town.
Starting in the centre of Cape Town, the marathon route moves towards Rondebosch before returning to the City and taking in the Waterfront, Sea Point and the Green Point Common. You will struggle to find a more beautiful setting for a city marathon.
While the route in 2010 will be similar to that in previous years, it will change to include the Green Point Common and the area around the new Cape Town Football Stadium.
In addition to the marathon, there will be a 10km race and a 4.2km mini-marathon for juniors.
On the day before, Saturday, 25 September 2010, there will be the Festival of Running 100km/100miler; a 5km fun run and a 5 x 4.2km inter-club and inter-company relay.
Entries will open in mid-May and will close on 3 September. More info on the entry procedure and the entry fee will be posted shortly.
