Shaun Johnson Chairperson Shaun Johnson is the founding Chief Executive of The Mandela Rhodes Foundation. He is also an award-winning writer. Shaun serves as a member of Independent News & Media plc’s International Advisory Board and is a Trustee of various charitable organisations

Kevin Roman Deputy Chairperson Kevin is currently the Group CEO of Hermans and Roman Property Solutions and has been a member of the Partnership since its inception. He was Chairman of the Western Cape Chapter of SAPOA from 2005-2007. He is also a member of the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) Western Cape Council.

Andrew Boraine In addition to his role of Chief Executive of the Cape Town Partnership, Andrew is Chairperson of the Board of the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) and serves on the Boards of the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), the DBSA Development Fund, Accelerate Cape Town (ACT), the Cape Town City Hall Music Centre and the St Patrick’s Trust. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the African Centre for Cities at the University of Cape Town.

Nasima Badsha Nasima was appointed as the CEO of the Cape Higher Education Consortium (CHEC) with effect from February 2007. She is an advisor to the Minister of Education and was Deputy Director General in the national Department of Education from 1997-2006. Nasima was a founder member of the South African branch of the Forum for African Women Educationalists.

Achmat Ebrahim Achmat has held the position of City Manager of Cape Town since 2006. A career public servant, he served as Chief Administrative Officer for the Health Department in the then Cape Metropolitan Council (CMC) in 1993. In 1997 he was appointed Executive Director for Protection, Health and Trading Services of the CMC and later acted as its Chief Executive Officer. After the formation of the City of Cape Town, he was appointed in 2001 as Executive Director for Community Services.

Joe Emeran Joe serves on the Board of the Cape Town Partnership representing the Chamber of Commerce. He is also an honorary participant in the Local Business Service Centre (LBSC) Clothing and Textile Industry.

Paddy Gordon Paddy Gordon of South African National Parks is area manager of the northern section of Table Mountain National Park.

Anton Groenewald Anton Groenewald was Event Director of the annual Cape Argus Pick ’n Pay Cycle Tour and Interim Head for the City of Cape Town’s Marketing Development. He currently works in the office of the Western Cape Premier.

Hassan Khan Hassan Khan is the Chief Executive Officer of The Haven, a non-profit welfare organisation providing shelter and support to the homeless.

Rashid Lombard Rashid Lombard is an internationally renowned photographer and jazz fundi and CEO of ESPAfrika, the Cape-based company responsible for the largest jazz multi-event in the southern hemisphere, the Cape Town Jazz Festival (formerly known as the North Sea Jazz Festival).

Thabo Mashologu Thabo Mashologu is co-founder and managing director of Tau Pride. He serves on several committees as he is extremely active in training, development and policy making. He also serves on board of the Development Action Group (DAG), a Cape-based NGO renowned for its people-centred approach to housing delivery.

Edgar Pieterse Edgar Pieterse is a professor at the University of Cape Town and Director of the Centre for Cities in Africa as well as a visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Public Management and Planning at the University of Stellenbosch. He was appointed Special Advisor to the Western Cape Premier for the period 2004-2007. He is a co-founder and Board member of the Sustainability Institute as well as of the Isandla Institute. He is also author of the book City Futures: Confronting the Crisis of Urban Development.

Dr Annelie Rabie Dr Annelie Rabie is the CEO of Business Against Crime.

Martin Rippon Martin is the Western Cape Regional Manager of Eris Properties and represents the CCID on the Cape Town Partnership Board.

Laura Robinson Laura Robinson is the President of the Cape Institute for Architecture as well as Director of the Cape Town Heritage Trust. She is co-author of the textbook Toxicology and Ecotoxicology in Chemical Safety Assessment.

Khalied Jacobs Khalied represents SABTACO on the Board and is a partner at Jakupa Architects and Urban Designers. After six years of employment at the City of Cape Town as an architect, Khalied convened the third year architectural design and technology courses at UCT’s School of Architecture before consulting to the United Nation’s Regional Office for African and Arab States’ Somalia Urban Development Program as an urban planner. He then went on to private practice where he primarily been involved in public sector driven projects in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Lesotho.

Theodore Yach Chairperson Theodore is the owner of Theodore Yach Property Services. He has more than 20 years of experience working in the CBD. Theodore was one of the founding directors of the Cape Town Partnership.

Michel Du Toit Michel is the Western Cape Regional Director of JHI, a property services company.

Michael Flax Michael is an Executive Director of Madison Property Fund Managers and was the founder and CEO of Spearhead, until it was sold in 2006. He serves on the Board of the Property Loan Stock Association and is an alternate director of Hyprop Investments Limited.

John Hall John represents the Bestinver Company on the CCID’s board.

Richard Harris Richard is the Managing Member of Woodheads, a stockist, agent and distributor of a wide variety of leather industry products/

Faieda Jacobs Faieda is the Regional General Manager for the Western Cape of Old Mutual Investment Group Property Investments (OMIGPI). She previously managed the Commercial and Industrial portfolios for the Allan Gray Property Trust and Fountainhead Property Trust.

Rob Kane Rob is a director of Vunani Properties, where his core activities are property development and investment.

Martin Kearns Originally from Ireland, Martin is the Chief Executive Officer of Eurocape Holdings, the South African operation of Howard Eurocape. He is a Chartered Engineer and has worked in several cities around the world.

Charles Keefer Charles Keefer is the owner of Property Exponents, a company that administers sectional title blocks. He represents the residential component of the Cape Town CBD on the CCID’s Board.

Julian Leibman Julian is a director on the Cape Regional Board of Investec.
