Catch the MyCiTi bus shuttle between the Civic Centre Station on Hertzog Boulevard and the Cape Town International Airport. Tickets cost R50 one-way, and are on sale at the ticket kiosks in both the Civic Centre and Airport bus stations. The buses leave every 20 minutes from both destinations; the trip takes 45-55 minutes during rush hour and about 20 minutes during the rest of the day. These times are similar to those in private cars.
The bus is clean and comfortable, giving passengers a taste of the MyCiTi service that will be rolled out across the city in coming years. The service runs between 4:20am and 9pm departing from the Civic Centre Station, and between 5am and 10pm from the Airport Station.
Bulk purchases and clipcards are on sale for this service starting today (Monday 20 September), at the kiosks at the Airport and Civic Centre stations. The cost will be R40 per ticket when 20 or more tickets are bought (tickets valid for three months) and a clipcard costing R400 will be valid for an unlimited number of trips (valid for one calendar month). This clipcard is not transferable.
Tickets for children aged four to 11 cost R25, and children under four travel free.
