Coral gets into World Cup Spirit1

The staff of Coral International Cape Town Hotel, together with learners from the local Bo-Kaap Primary School, Schotse Kloof Primary, literally stopped traffic this morning on the corner of Buitengracht and Wale Streets as they took to the streets in a strong show of support for the city’s role in hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

Dressed in soccer supporter gear and making some noise while demonstrating the Diski Dance to passing motorists, the Coral team, led by General Manager, Jacqui Booyzen, took a short break from their hotel duties to show their delight at this once-in-a-lifetime event. Even Executive Chef, Stefan Muller and his team was out and about giving motorists a taste of what is to come in the form of delectable chocolate treats.

“Having waited more than 10 years and been hard at work preparing, especially since our opening, it is difficult to believe that the kick-off is almost upon us,” commented Jacqui Booyzen.

“We are extremely proud to be uniquely South African today; proud of our role in the local Bo-Kaap community and proud to be contributing to tourism in Cape Town. This is indeed our time to shine. We are certainly ready to show the world that we are a world-class destination with top class accommodation and a myriad of activities to suit every traveller. We need continued and sustained tourism growth as a key economic and job contributor.” She continued.

The Coral International Cape Town also took the opportunity to hand over soccer balls and a sponsored trophy for “Outstanding Achievement” to the principal of the Schotse Kloof Primary School, Ms Shaamiela Dramat and her soccer team.
